Family Fun Sundays in the Studio

Sunday, February 24 | 1 pm – 4 pm

Presented with the support of Anne Safranyos & family, the AGW is pleased to offer Family Fun Sundays in the Studio for a 8th consecutive year.

Join AGW’s signature family-friendly program with local artist-led workshops and participate in a hands-on activity related to the current exhibitions. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The AGW thanks Anne Safranyos & Family for their 8th consecutive year of sponsorship.

Featured artists are as follows:

May 2019: Jude Abu Zaineh
Jude Abu Zaineh is based in Windsor, ON. Her current practice explores the use of biotechnology as cultural expression embedded in science and social studies. Her Sundays in the Studio program will offer weekly innovative artmaking activities which will explore new interpretations of works in the collection.

June 2019: Kathryn Pasquach
Kathryn Pasquach has been trained in traditional craft techniques used in making many distinctive creative forms. These processes have been passed down through three generations in her family. Pasquach has planned an exciting series of activities beginning with a Pouch Making Session creating a leather pouch, followed by sessions in jewelry making producing a bracelet, earrings or necklace. You can also make a dream catcher and a keychain.

July 2019: Alice Sacharoff

- Potter since 1966
- BA(Hons) University of Windsor 1972
- Currently undergraduate, Visual Arts/Art History at the U of W
- Makes wheel thrown stoneware pottery
- Presents pottery workshops in area public and high schools, both English and French, day and summer camps, daycares and seniors’ residences
- Exhibitor at Art in the Park since 1970
- AGW Gallery volunteer and Guide

August 2019: Amanda Dupuis

Born and raised in Windsor/Essex, 33-year-old Amanda quickly found that art is her passion. She is a 3rd year student at the University of Windsor working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Her medium of choice is oil on canvas, although she is an active body painter and mixed-media artist. She has been a volunteer for 3 years at both the Art Gallery of Windsor and the University as well as at local community events, where she has fostered others' imaginations through various media. Art History is one of her many pursuits, and she will eventually pursue an MFA incorporating body painting as an element of her thesis.

September 2019: George Rizok
George Rizok will use his extensive knowledge and experience in creating super hero comic books from cover to cover to help participants create their own comic. Rizok will demonstrate uses of multi-media applications and drawing techniques for determining characters’ proportions and poses, as well as page layout and overall design.

With Kathryn Pasquach, have fun making pouches and Dreamcatchers, daisy chain bracelets/necklaces and assorted jewelry.
